Edie
Oh the love, and oh the care, people who make me feel so special....."home at last". I now have the name Edie and in spite of what is wrong with me, I feel like the prettiest girl.

My story started a few years ago but I choose to forget as the person who was supposed to be my guardian was not. I found myself in my carrier being taken away and I was so scared of what would happen to me. Then... The person put me in my carrier in a dumpster behind a business and there I sat, scared, alone and I guess just waiting to be picked up with the trash and compacted.

A kind man saw the carrier and picked it up not knowing I was inside.

I have a very painful mouth virus and had lots of fleas. The kind people at CK are taking good care of me and giving me something for pain but still it is hard to eat. I got really excited to get treats on my second day here but I struggled to get teeny pieces down. I slobber a lot from the virus and pain so my coat is not lovely right now but when I get well, I will groom and wash and be all shiny again.I am the happiest kitty to be starting a new life filled with loving care. There are so many kitties here like me with special needs and I hear the people here talk about how much money it takes for our care and food and stuff.

Please, would you help with a donation on PayPal or stop by the sanctuary with food, litter or items from the wish list?
I know this would help so much. What would have happened to me if Caroline's Kids did not take me in?

This is Penny. She has leukemia. Your generous donations will certainly help her.

Derek is 5 years old and very handsome in his lion cut. He is still to this day shy and standoffish but is a star on our kitchen live cam. You can always find Derek with his unique coat

Meet Cory

What an ordeal this super sweet boy endured.

Cory is about 5 years old. He was rescued from a drain pipe after the horrible end of June storms. He was starved, wet, whiskers torn off on one side, and he is the most unusual color. Like two cats in one with black and white face and rest of him long haired brown. Oh, forgot to say that Cory was shot with a pellet gun and has a pellet in his chest. Yes, this boy deserves all the care and attention he is receiving at CK.

Meet Roxy

This gorgeous 17 year old senior girl Roxy has the most beautiful eyes.  The are a soft water blue but what sets them apart is they look like starbursts.  If you look closely you will see the lines radiating out.
Roxy is a Tonkinese and had to leave her home  due to some issues. Roxy is in her forever home with love and care now in the winter of her life.

Meet Pearl

At 10 + years old, Pearl is settling in to a life at Caroline's Kids sanctuary that she dreamed about for her entire life as a toss away barn cat. Unspayed, having litter after litter, taking care of babies with never enough food ( a mouse only provides 35 calories), her new journey is beginning.
Pearl had very serious injuries from being run over by a vehicle. On July 15, she was spayed and had her tail amputated.
Her ears were deformed from repeated infections and ear mites causing her itching, pain, discomfort and lots of scratching and head shaking. Can any of us imagine this life this innocent girl endured?
This is what sets Caroline's Kids apart from other rescues, shelters and humane societies....the Pearl's of the world who need loving compassionate care and a place to be home forever.
She is incontinent as a result of her injuries but her beautiful face and loving nature are what makes Pearl so outstanding.
Affectionate, friendly, sweet, loves people, wants attention and petting .......this IS Pearl.

Meet Baby Cat Singe

Meet 8 week old baby Singe. This darling was found in the engine of a car on July 16 and came in as a stray with an emergency.
Whiskers on his right side are singed so that is how he got his name.
Kind teenagers brought him to our door after rescuing him from under the hood of the car.
Soon he will be vetted and neutered and will be ready for his forever home.

Meet Heidi Baby is just shy of 4 years old. Your donations have helped her and the other 279 cats at Carolines Kids.
Heidi Baby was trapped in a TNR program with her Mom and littermates but they all came to the sanctuary and stayed. When Heidi opens her mouth to meow, nothing comes out. She is a hoot and so very sweet.

Missy came to Caroline's Kids in July 2011 as a 6 month old kitten.
A man came to our door with her in his arms, she had narrowly missed being hit by a car on the road next to the sanctuary. She is extremely sweet and has an endearing habit with anyone... no one is a stranger to Missy. Her habit is she likes to launch herself on a person's shoulders, wrap herself around the neck and lick on the ear! She is so gentle, and just forever sweet and has not met anyone she does not like.

Well, Barney is not too happy about picture taking and was quick to express his disapproval. Wild Thing, like Barney, are residents who are feral. Wild Thing has been at CK for 11years. He is most likely at least 13 years old. Wild Thing was what he was when he came to the sanctuary but has mellowed over the years. His hiss is as far as he goes. Feral cats need love too. #LOVE

Here comes King! King came to CK in Nov 2007 and is still the really big boy he was back then. A gentle giant, King is FIV+. He enjoys his life in the sanctuary especially the food part! His age is not exact as he was a stray but he is over 10 years old. Treats are his favorite part of the week. Any of our furkids would love to have their own sponsor.#animalrights?#picoftheday

Bethany is 8 1/2 years young. Her story started on Christmas morning 2011 when she was found under a box with holes poked and a board on top by the driveway of a large box store. She came to CK on 12-26-11 and is the perfect lady grateful for all her care and especially love.
Bethany has dental issues that are costly and she is older, she was lucky the day she came to us as she has a forever, loving home at the sanctuary and all her dental needs are met. Bethany is but one example of the level of care that Caroline's Kids provides

Connor came to Caroline's Kids at 3-4 months of age. He was adopted a few months later and returned to the sanctuary when his guardian became ill 4 years later. Connor loves his life at the sanctuary and as a senior citizen now at 10 years old he watches birds, and gets all the attention he so deserves. Who could resist spending time with Connor when he paws at us for loving.

This is just one of our resident cats that your donations have helped... Meet Logan. He's had vet visits… lots of them. He came our shelter with 4 frostbitten and infected paws. He is recovered finally.

Such a beautiful young lady Lucie is. She is a 7 year old charmer who loves to climb the wire dividers on the stairs and wait for her favorite people to scratch her back! Lucie had a sad start with us as she was left in a laundry basket with another kitty named Mootsie on our property.

Whoever left them, did not care what happened to either as they were in a small basket laying in urine. Mootsie was on the bottom and so absorbed the most urine for the longest time and did not survive the urine scald.Lucie did not absorb as much but did have a long painful recovery on her tummy burns. She now roams the sanctuary and is happy to be so loved and pampered.

What a precious face posing for her photo. Vianney is a 5 to 6 year old sweet girl who has a funny story to tell on how she came to CK on July 18, 2011. She had a kitten we will call Johnny who she paraded into a church right down the aisle during a funeral. The priest removed them to the outside and later asked a parishioner to help find them a place to go. The name of the church was St. John Vianney so it was appropriate to give them the name. Johnny got his outstanding forever loving home this past Christmas and is the fun loving spoiled boy he was at the sanctuary
